Motherhood and Vinh-Isms: The Sh-Stuff My HusVinh Says... Vol. 5 Issue 1

This blog-post began with the purest intention to be funny and our weddi-versary trip conversations inspired me to REWRITE the whole post with an "announcement" and my hubby's VinhIsms. Here we go... A disclaimer - I'm not mad - this is a PSA for us married women (couples) getting tired of being asked - "So when are you gonna start a family?" MOTHERHOOD one of the many hats as a uterus-carrying-human-being I am expected to wear. Especially when I've been a committed relationship for ten years... And married for two of those years... And with a recent emotional reaction at work from getting my period- I need to remind myself that the majority of my life choices are based on what's best for me and what makes me happy. You see, we are NOT trying. BUT I have been officially off the pill for 7 months and nothing. A few months before being officially off the pill I had missed a couple of days of the pill and when we hear several stories of ...

"Vinh-isms" The Sh-Stuff My Hubby Says... Vol. 4 Issue 1

Here it is, my take on our first year of marriage brought to you by my husband's "Vinh-isms" There are days that I would like to ring his neck Homer Simpson style and then there are days that I find myself singing because I'm thinking about how much I love my husband. We decided to write add a new set of vows each wedding/matrimony anniversary and hearing him say what he said touched my heart and tickled my soul in ways that are new and exciting!!! Our re-newed vows made us reflect on the question that we've gotten asked most often through out our first year of marriage: "So what has changed in your first year of marriage?" And at first, we were both a bit bothered by the question because we had been together for 8 years by the time we got married - so technically and practically speaking, we were already "married." But after much discussion about our first year of marriage, we believe it's fair to say some things have changed. ...

"Vinh-Isms" The Sh-Stuff My Hubby Says... Vol. 3 Issue 1

Practicing for when we get older... It has been a while... like about a whole 13 months since my last "Vinh-Isms" post! Yikes! And it's not for a lack of them... trust me! I've just been lacking motivation to write my blog... But I am here, finally! Thanks to it being Take Me Back Tuesday and all! And this picture, there are certain pictures of us that just make me smile and this is one of 'em!  I have a pretty, "die-hard, frst time ever in Vegas" story and it involves a wheelchair... So while in San Diego, celebrating my cousins 29th birthday, again... My cousins loved rehashing that story and when we saw the wheelchair, we just had to... So as the drill goes, always a little backstory so that y'all may understand... Backstory: I love my ringtones to have personality! And depending on the flavor of the month and/or my mood, I change my ringtone very often. So in the middle of choosing my new ringtone, he says: "Yeah!!! That...

Eat, Drink and Be Married: Call Us Butter Cause We're on a Roll-ish... Vol 1 Issue 8

If I told y'all the date it would kill the purpose of our STDs I am back! I took an unannounced break... a writing hiatus, I didn't want to write my blog because I HAD to but because I WANT to... And I finally feel like it... I have time and I am in a much better mood than I was in September- Something about the Super Moon and well, honestly, September, is my least favorite month... Actually, that's putting it lightly, I hate September! I am not sure why but I think it has something to do with it being the back-to-school month, or it's the month I got my first period, I'm not too sure... But I digress... Sooooo since it's finally the first day! Of my favoritest month! I figure I would give y'all the monthly wedding update. Though... I feel like that's all I did, all of September- Wedding Talk! Like I would hear myself and tell myself to shut up but still wouldn't... Not that I'm anywhere near becoming a bridezilla - I am becoming mo...

Eat, Drink and Be Married: In A Perfect World... Vol 1 Issue 7

In a perfect world, according to me... Today would've started with a good morning kiss and with breakfast pastries in bed ... Later, before heading to work and me off to run errands, we could've shared a mimosa to celebrate today!  It's the small things... chivalry, a smile, a joke, a few kind words... And then... In the evening there would've been some fun had at color me mine and later-later we would've had my favorite type of dinner; small, intimate, good food, good wine and laughs - BUT instead one year later after our engagement, both parties got snarky and rude... So to that point that's what the August 1st Wedding Update is about... Around our first weeks of being engaged, someone told us that marriage is about wanting to strangle, to death, the person sleeping next to you but not doing so because you'd miss them too much... And today is one of those days... This also reminds me of someone's random thought of the...

"Vinh-Isms" The Sh-Stuff My Future Hubby Says... Vol. 2 Issue 3

I Choo-Choo Choose You! Damn skippy...Son! Y'all know the drill... My Babo says the darnest things!  It's been a while since I've posted one of these... A smidge over three months... And here they are, as usual, I will try my best to provide you with a backstory: Backstory: I try my best to speak well... I had teachers who would correct the way we spoke in class... So it kinda stuck with me... Now, I kinda catch myself correcting people's grammar... (but only the same ones that the teachers would correct... cause let's face it- y'all can read my grammar ain't top notch.... I hate using periods at end of sentences.... like a single period - I dunno why) OK back to the story... There was a day where he got to correct me:  "I love it when I get to correct your grammar!" And the he did his wiggle dance... Backstory: My Babo weighs a good buck-35 - he likes to say 38 - but c'mon we all know those are his jeans adding a few extra lbs.....

Eat, Drink and Be Married... Vol 1 Issue 5: Let's Talk About a Few Things First

I would like to begin with a disclaimer: I am not a love or relationship expert by any stretch of the imagination. I have been thinking about writing this post for a while but have been debating because I do not want to come off as having all the answers...because I DON'T. A while back  +Victor Ngo and I talked about how we are going to raise our kids... And someone asked us, "You guys already talked about that?" And I thought to myself... umm yeah...!?! I have always been the kind of person that needs to talk EVERYTHING out! I need to have conversations to certify and solidify things... let's just say I am a therapists' dream come true (or worst nightmare...hmmm) On our first official date, Vinh talked about wanting 10 kids...! Anyways, as Vinh and I began dating - I wasn't ok with being called "Babe" until we actually talked about being exclusive because I didn't feel right having a pet name if I was still seeing other guys or vic...

Yeah...I'm a Daddy's Girl and he's a Momma's Boy... But We Wouldn't Have It Another Way...

Our first place... At my new desk... Our breakfast nook- My last post was short and sweet... But it packed big news! So in case y'all didn't read it (SMH...cause you should be reading it- tis-tis) +Victor Ngo and I have moved out! Finally! After almost seven years of dating, traveling, family gatherings and an engagement- We finally did it! And it's proving to be super eye opening for the both of us. (In a good way... for now at least... and let's hope it continues to be for example he makes the bed when I leave to work before him! I know no big deal for some but he gets me and knows that i can't function if my bed is unmade) As mentioned earlier, we have been together for almost seven years (in May it'll be seven years)And we have traveled together for long periods of time, so we kinda knew each others nuisances. And now we're getting to know more of them...hehehe...Like I'm a night owl and he's a senior citizen! And we like to cuddle s...

Now to the wedding update: not much news from the last post... I'm still not exercising and we still haven't sent our Save-The-Dates to the printers (Heavy Sigh) But we have been very busy! Big news for all those who have been wanting me to have a baby! And wondering why we finally moved out on our own... We are pregnant! So there won't be any dieting or exercising from this gal! I'm telling y'all I make plans to lose weight and then God says, "nope.. I got other plans for you..." Now, I'm letting y'all know through his forum cause I'm curious to see how many will respond...

"Vinh-Isms" The Sh-Stuff My Future Hubby Says... Vol. 2 Issue 2

My Babo! My future Hubby, ain't he a cutie! Alright-alright-alright... Hehehe... It has been a little over two months since my last post about the "Sh-stuff" +Victor Ngo   says and  I got new material y'all! I love my Babo to another galaxy and back and there are  many reasons as to why... One of the many reasons are for his rawness! And the following is about as real as it gets with this man. He doesn't have a fake bone in his body and he keeps it real- one huneds! Did I say that right +irlanea Luna   ??? Well according to urbandictionary.com thas the correct spelling... Any whooooo... .As always I will provide you with a backstory because outta context they might not make sense... Without further ado.. Here we go... Backstory: At an early age I was obsessed with reading and watching the various biographies of serial killers- From the likings of Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, so on and ...

Eat, Drink, and Be Married... Vol 1 Issue2

OK this will be short and sweet - at least I think it will be cause I'm having to write this post from my phone... I forgot to bring my laptop when I knew we were gonna be on grandparent duty- ayayayay (VinhS family... So sweet; take turns to spend the weekend with their grandparents, an Asian stereotype that I do not mind perpetuating) We are spending our Saturday evening already like an old couple  (not much difference from other evenings- wink-wink)  We are watching TV (Sharks game) And grandparent-sitting and babysitting-ish... Vinh's cousins are here as well and I love hanging out with them- They're too funny and love giving Vinh a hard time- and I join in for all the times he makes fun of me with nephews... They remind me of how long Vinh and I have been together- One of the youngest oh his cousins was eight years old and will be turning fifteen this month! Yikes! I have seen these boys grow up into such handsome, thoughtful, young men... Tear... Back to the busi...

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: Que Sera, Sera....

In my last post I promised that I would inform y'all of "life slapping me once again" - And after a conversation with my little brother - I am ready-ish to talk about it... My brother affirmed that I have never been known to keep quiet - he reminded me of who I am! That I wear my heart on my sleeve and along with my heart are my values and ideals... So... Long story short, I am unemployed (I originally wrote "in-between jobs" to try and make it sound better) - With the support of my family and my Babo - I am coming out of this almost unscathed... I wanted to take the week to process my whole situation and... I am still processing it, which is why I won't go into details - One thing is for sure, I am working REALLY HARD on focusing on the positives - I am appreciative for the free time that unemployment grants me - In my first week off, my head is clearer, I have been able to spend real quality time with Patch, re-organized my closet, wrote out ...
