About

I was a twenty-something yr-old when I started and am still a bit nucking futs!

In this lifetime I am playing many roles: Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Friend, Youth Specialist, Dog Mommy, Fiancee, now a WIFE, Latina-Americana (figuring out what that is suppose to mean),  Being a Fat Girl that accepts and works to love herself and looking forward to re-evaluating this journal blog

All the mean while, trying to figure out life one day at a time...Committing myself to the old adage " When you know better, you do better" - Maya Angelou

I was asked by a "friend," 'So what's the point to your blog...'
Here's what I came up with...

Welcome! My blog is about anything and everything: I am what they call in the blogosphere a "Journal Blogger" and I am excited to add Fatshion 101 as a consistent feature!

Here, I have the opportunity to present you with the crazy rants I have with my friends-friends and my "friends"
There are too many moments in my life where I think- I should Youtube this or blog this (That is of course when I was introduced to blogs - in 2013 -  after reading "Let's pretend this never happened" by Jenny Lawson The Bloggess)

What... yeah... I have only been in the "Social Media World" as of October 2013...Meaning I finally joined Facebook, Got a Smartphone and all the other vices that come along with it!

So I hope y'all enjoy getting to know me a bit better... Or that I serve as a consolation... Cause you won't feel as weird about yourself, as you once did, after reading my blog ;-)

FML... I Totally Forgot it was Monnday Today...

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was jam packed with major accomplishments and lots of love! So much so, that I forgot today was Monday and that I needed to write my blog... And for consistency sake, I am writing to let y'all know to come back June 1st for a Wedding Update...   And that I am thinking about adding some kinda fat girl's guide to feeling and looking good, at least once a month... Every 1st,2nd or 3rd post... I want to try out this challenge I found on Instagram from the Aussie Perth Curvettes! Check 'em out I love theirr Instagram and their blogs! I'm not becoming a fashion/style blog by any stretch of the imagination... BUT I do enjoy looking good and feeling good about myself. And I haven't lately and that is a major part of my anxiety these days. I have been beating myself up and I want to make sure that at least once a month I highlight my many positive attributes! I am also in the middle of planning another trip...

The Meme Speaks to Me...

Image provided by http://makeameme.org/meme/when-someone-tries-tthwto First post of 2016! Happy New Year y'all! I am back and oh so happy, ever so happy to be writing again! I have missed my little corner of joy and release! I am excited, so excited! I have been reading Jess Baker's "Things no will tell fat girls" and it has been my main motivation to continue writing. It's also helping bring new life to my blog. It's the best-random, "just because" gift from my husband ever! I am no longer just a #JournalBlogger - I am a  #JournalFatshionBlogger Reviewing my 2014 and 2015 posts, some of my most popular posts were my Fatshion 101 posts, thus this year, I look to be more intentional about being body positive through my Fatshion 101 posts! So be on alert for my Valentine's Day Fatshion 101 post! Now to present matters at hand... My last post was over a month ago and it was inspired by my tiredness of people's ignorance. And today...

EDC 2016: Modesty, nudity and feminism

Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent Give it to me to go to Vegas and come back more of an empowered feminist than ever! Damn right! First of all... (clap, clap) Let's get something straight! (clap-clap)) My anxiety/insecurity prior to this Vegas Wedding slash EDC thing had NOTHING to do with my body!!! (CLAP) I struggle with finding nudity an empowering source! And not because I'm fat but because I've always been a believer in less is more - in where, the less skin I show, the more enticing and the more empowered I feel. Yeah! Ladies and gents! It's possible! And an argument can be made of the same saying; Less is more - The less clothing you wear the more enticing and empowered you can feel! And I say "I struggle" with 'empowering nudity' because we are bombarded with nudity everywhere we look - We are meant to be made to believe that we should all be comfortable with nudity - well I hate to break it to y'all but - nah! I've written ...
