Fatshion 101: Life is a Journey and a Dress-tination

Purse: Aldo, Shoes: Keds, Dress; Target
It took me a bit longer than expected to post this outfit but hey my middle name isn't procrastinator but it should be!

This Fatshion post is about my one shopping weakness!

Otherwise known as Dress-tination Syndrome! Continue reading for more information.

I wore this outfit to Carmel for our wedding anniversary.

For our actual Wedding Date Anniversary, the day before, I had worn an off the shoulder blouse in recognition of my wedding dress' bolero! (Another blog coming soon - regarding strapless bras;-)

But I was most excited for this white eyelet dress from the WhoWhatWear collection.

Btdubs, the collection is still being sold at Target!

Their Target collection is one that I have been uber excited to buy and wear this spring and summer and all at an affordable price!;-)

Last year's weather during our wedding was just super legit so I thought a perfect white-crisp dress would be just as legit this year! But it was windy and a SMIDGE chilly.

I was excited to wear spring clothing, especially this dress with sleeves and a collar! But unfortunately I was forced to pair with my denim jacket (you can see on my Instagram)... I did get to wear without a jacket for a few hours when the sun was bright and warm.

But because I forgot to set up my "cloud", the awesome pictures my husband photographed - went buh-bye when I was trying to move the folders - it was a major "palm to forehead" moment...

#FirstWorld Problems - I know!

That was then - this is now - Today - I have lost the original white belt the dress came with but luckily it looks just as great with this tan belt I pulled from another dress of mine - remember - resourcefulness is my expertise;-)

I paired with an oldie - an oldie but a goodie - gold-chained purse from Aldo - which I love because the purse is not only functional but also serves almost as a gold necklace/accessory because I wear it cross-body.

My other favorite part of this outfit was the shoes! I LOVE flowers/florals! It's why my husband says I have grandma style senses but say you want to say... Florals are a staple in my closet and are classic.

The shoes are from Keds by Kate Spade and they are flipping adorable! Kate Spade has a skirt in this print but I just can't seem to justify spending that much money on a skirt ( I WANT to but CANNOT)
Luckily Kate Spade collaborated with Keds and this pink majesty of a print was made available for my feet!

I can't wait to wear the shoes with my striped skirts and dresses!

And this dress is so versatile, remember my rule of three... I need to be able to create at least three outfits when I make any kinda clothing purchase...

The only time I make an exception of my own rule is for vacations - staycations - mini BaeCations -

For instance, this dress and its accessories (earrings not pictured but you can check out here), all I thought was anniversary outfit! I didn't come up with other outfits like I normally do.

Our mini-trips or mega-trips! I don't care! I don't discriminate... these are simply a few of my favorite purchases because they continue to push my style and creativity!

And this dress-tination syndrome has many symptoms! Like - I am actually one of those super odd birds who enjoys packing! And only because I get to come up with an outfit for each day! And I am meticulous, I think about style, comfort, functionality, weather, accessories, etc.

Though I only had one outfit in mind with this dress- I am even more stoked to have come up with more outfits after the trip. And as I type this blog I am already thinking about our next mini-baecation and cannot wait to start planning my outfits, my shoes, and my accessories!

For this fat girl, Life is about the journey and the dress-tination!

That is all,

'Til next time,

Toodles,

Mrs. Lilly Perez-Ngo

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I am not so much of the "new year, new me" attitude BUT a new year does represent a much more glacier pace of life for me. I kinda fell off the face of the Earth or at least my blog since September 2018... October, our birthday month was superbusy, November at work is an insane time and December is for the holidays sooooooo by the end of the year - I am just waiting with bated breath for new years! Aaaaaaaand January is also home to one of my favoritest days of the year! National Polka Dot Day! In honor of the the Polka Dot Queen herself, Minnie Mouse! If it has dots! I want it! I got it! ;-) And dude!!! I celebrated in what I can only describe as pants sent from heaven! They are from Zara and I bought them ON SALE, maybe six months ago and they come in XXL! I fell in love with them the minute I put them on SO ...

EDC 2016: Modesty, nudity and feminism

Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent Give it to me to go to Vegas and come back more of an empowered feminist than ever! Damn right! First of all... (clap, clap) Let's get something straight! (clap-clap)) My anxiety/insecurity prior to this Vegas Wedding slash EDC thing had NOTHING to do with my body!!! (CLAP) I struggle with finding nudity an empowering source! And not because I'm fat but because I've always been a believer in less is more - in where, the less skin I show, the more enticing and the more empowered I feel. Yeah! Ladies and gents! It's possible! And an argument can be made of the same saying; Less is more - The less clothing you wear the more enticing and empowered you can feel! And I say "I struggle" with 'empowering nudity' because we are bombarded with nudity everywhere we look - We are meant to be made to believe that we should all be comfortable with nudity - well I hate to break it to y'all but - nah! I've written ...

Fatshion 101: Learning to Live with Intent and Balance

Note: I started writing this blog in March while on our way Home to the Happiest Place on Earth ---days before resigning from my job of six years... I’ve always enjoyed my time sitting at a desk looking out a window… Which is probably why as I sit thousands of feet above the sky I am inspired to pull out my laptop (That I’ve packed to finish work emails – on my day off)  but  as I type those words- I’ve chosen to f*ck that sh*t – I am going to use my laptop to blog! I am a little  conflicted on where to start –  I’ve had these thoughts, these words, this blog on my mind for a long time… (Clears throat: it has been well over a year since my last blogpost) I haven’t written for fun in ages and I know myself well enough to know that I shouldn’t have taken such a long break from journaling/blogging (Friendly FYI – I maintain a handwritten journal in addition to my blog) But even before the summer 2019 I stopped all forms of journaling completely – I insta-s...
