Fatshion 101: Happy Valentine's Day! Just add a POP of RED

Alright- alright-alright - My first official Fatshion 101 post of 2016! And during my favoritest season of all... S.A.D. short for Single's Awareness Day! LMAO! I kid!

This is the time of season you can probably hear the collective rolling of eyes around the world! And this includes me! There are 364 days or 365 days during leap years, that you can tell your significant other, your friends and family that you love them.

But that's the bitter single girl speaking, she still camps out in some areas of my brain. Please don't get me wrong, I am a hopeless romantic but burdened with a logical brain.

I also understand that some folks need one day to express themselves through flowers, chocolates and cards;-)

For me, some of my favorite ways to express myself  are through writing (duh), dancing, cooking and with styling!

Styling myself, my desk, our place, is one of my favorites because my taste changes and always reflects how I feel or what I'm going through at that time in my life. And right now my excitement spews over for this awesome momentum of body positivity and how my husband and I are fast approaching our one year wedding anniversary!

My husband and I have only celebrated Valentine's day on the 14th once in our time together - our tradition is to go to Carmel the following week;-). And this year isn't going to be any different - Vinh has the NBA finals to look forward to and I have premiere of The Walking Dead.

But today (Saturday) he made sure to let me know that he does listen to my rants! And he volunteered to take pictures of me for my blog, because if not him, then who?

I love any excuse to wear the color red! I feel like red is one of those loud colors and so rather than me be loud - I let the clothing speak for me!  So without further a do - here is my ootd for V-Day-ish ;-)

In my favorite red jacket from Talbots that my younger brother bought me for my 26th birthday and it still as stylish! It's officially my favorite classic red jacket!

The dress is from Forever 21+ - I bought it in XXL and it still fits a bit snug but it's the right kind of snug, especially according to my husband because he likes how it snugs his favorite ASS-et.

And the outfit is a bit school-ish, businessy, preppy (both offcial words from the oxford dictionary... I swear) But I am one of those weird folks who really enjoys shopping for school/office supplues that includes my love for uniforms, business casual, and preppy gear, especially on a weekend.

He began the morning by treating me to my favorite kind of "cookies" wink-wink (yes, my blog will begin to include details-ish of  our "cookie" time - and yes, with my husband's consent) 

And the day continued by taking me to brunch! And no big deal, but this shows he listens! I have to work on Sundays and I hate to miss out on Sunday brunches and farmer's markets so today he let me enjoy my dream Sunday!


We got to enjoy our morning in each other's arms, a delicious brunch, major laughs in between and then he took me furniture shopping! My favorite!

 And as I'm typing up this post, he's working on putting it together! We got Ikea'd! (Palm to forehead!)

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. EDC 2016: Modesty, nudity and feminism

Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent Give it to me to go to Vegas and come back more of an empowered feminist than ever! Damn right! First of all... (clap, clap) Let's get something straight! (clap-clap)) My anxiety/insecurity prior to this Vegas Wedding slash EDC thing had NOTHING to do with my body!!! (CLAP) I struggle with finding nudity an empowering source! And not because I'm fat but because I've always been a believer in less is more - in where, the less skin I show, the more enticing and the more empowered I feel. Yeah! Ladies and gents! It's possible! And an argument can be made of the same saying; Less is more - The less clothing you wear the more enticing and empowered you can feel! And I say "I struggle" with 'empowering nudity' because we are bombarded with nudity everywhere we look - We are meant to be made to believe that we should all be comfortable with nudity - well I hate to break it to y'all but - nah! Fatshion 101: Learning to Live with Intent and Balance

Note: I started writing this blog in March while on our way Home to the Happiest Place on Earth ---days before resigning from my job of six years... I’ve always enjoyed my time sitting at a desk looking out a window… Which is probably why as I sit thousands of feet above the sky I am inspired to pull out my laptop (That I’ve packed to finish work emails – on my day off)  but  as I type those words- I’ve chosen to f*ck that sh*t – I am going to use my laptop to blog!
