Fatshion 101: Dresstination??? Yes, please...!!!

We took a few pics at night and had to use a different exposure -
so apologies for the heavy-filtered look;-)
Okay... So if you read my last blog-post - THANK YOU! And it was pretty heavy - and thank you to EVERYONE for reading and reaching out!

I appreciate and love everyone who get and understand me as the kinda friend I can be.

On a lighter note, I've been trying my best to organize areas of my life that I have failed to keep organized. My calendar... My thoughts... My shoes... And--- My Closet!

I've been impulse shopping and filled my closet full of "resort outfits"--- hoping, praying and waiting for a vacation or some type of getaway!

And in anticipation of a VERY BUSY FALL I have been emotionally shopping rather than emotionally eating. (I've been experiencing REALLY bad cramps from overeating... Some of you are familiar with the saying: "When you're full but you keep eating..." Well, lately I've been eating past the point of being fuller than fuller.)

Right now, My mind, my body, my heart and my soul are trying to harvest as much energy as they can muster because the next few months are going to be KILLER!

It is the busiest time of year at work and this year I've been given the lead on a very major and important event! I've been asking for a challenge and I am both happy and super anxious to take this on but overall EXCITED!

Hotel: The Riviera: I wish we could've stayed just a few more days -
AND witha new boss and without any premediatation --- thankfully my impulse shopping came in handy becaue the new boss granted me a week off! So the hubby and I booked a hotel because we were in dire need of some R&R!

After about a year and a half without a vacation we thought it was time to just take a week for ourselves.

At first we said, let's throw caution to the wind and go to Italy!!! Yes!!! BUT our passports expired...
So then we thought Carmel... But still too close to home....
Then we said Tahoe but eventually said nah...

And someway, somehow - neither of us is too sure how, but we decided Palm Springs! We'd never been and we really do enjoy road trips with just us two!

It was a long 7.5 hour drive!!! That started 4 hrs late!!!

(Surprise - surprise- We're infamous for being late)

The road trip was fun, we had an awesone rental thanks to my Lil' bro's wife. The drive was filled with singing, dancing, insta-storying and laughter; thanks to the comedy channel on Sirius radio.

When we finally arrived at our hotel we were ready to hit the pillow hard-ish- (I was being my typical persnickety-self) about the room (pictured above-left-ish) and long story short we ended up in this room.

AND in this particular instance, I fell in love a little more with my hubby because God blessed me with a REAL PATIENT and CARING PARTNER.

I treated him to drinks and a late-late dinner in one of the hotel's lounge areas.

And then headed off to bed but not before placing our room service order for breakfast. (One of my favorite things to do while on baecay!) The plan for the rest of the week was relaxation without creating an itinerary. (Anyone who has met me, knows this was not an easy feat)

So of course I still planned-ish the days by saying we would alternate between non-activity days to one-activity days and below, in no particular "favorites" order, are the outfits from my impulse buys!
First day was a non-activity day by the pool:

Bathing Suit is from Target: Purchased in April and I finally had an excuse to wear it;-)
I LOVE one-piece, fun, and exciting bathing suits! My favorite part of this one was its faux nude look (that I would only wear on baecay for the hubby;-) ANYTHING with a halter top to support these boobies is HEAVEN-SENT! The halter-top can be such a LITERAL pain-in-the-neck but they're really the only way to hold up my dirty pillows(Carrie reference, yeah I'm countingbthe days to Halloween.)

Second day was an activity day where we had brunch at one of the cutest restaurants (pictured below), we also checked out the scenery at about 9,000 ft and had dinner at the hotel.

Our curiosity drove us to this point and this view made it all worth the heavy breathing and shaky knees

This dress! (More deets to follow - below) But first thing's first, I LOVE THIS DRESS and I chose it mainly because the hubby's favorite color is green and green looks really good on me ;-)

For our third day we were planning for another hike at a place named Painted Canyons but at 110° we woke up and opted for another day at the pool since we had an evening activity planned. We napped, ate, chilled and grabbed drinks by the pool before heading out to paint nite!

In the past we've bought Groupons for Paint Nites but always managed to miss the deadline and though it seems like something so small - this evening meant the world to me because it was an evening with my partner--- full of laughter, painting and drinking creatively ;-)

We are both quite the artiste :-)
For this particular evening, I paired my favorite floral palazzo pants from Target and this crop top from HM because stripes epitomize, "artiste, oui-oui!?!"

This bag is also from Target (yes, my love of this store is a bit much). I love the bag because it's both functional and it can be worn as a bracelet-ish. The bag has a detachable strap and
can also be worn as a crossover bag.

And as always I bought these pants with at least three different outfits in mind and they are totally -surprisingly office friendly too! I recently paired them with a pair of flats from Aldo (on sale) and a navy-blue cardigan and looked uber cuuute!

One other outfit I couldn't pass by was this red gingham dress from Zara (size L) on sale for $25! But only online... In store it was still being sold for $50! I was saving this dress for a winery-trip but I just couldn't wait to wear it once we decided we'd paying HOME a visit. AKA to The Happiest Place on Earth (It's only 1hr and 30mins away from Palm Springs - so why not-duh!)

Disney Bound Inspired: Minnie Mouse ;-)
I love pairing dresses with clean-sleek white kicks!

This jumpsuit, again is from Target in XXL and it fits snug but still comfortable enough to wear for like an hour or two... I've lost my ability to suck it in - so folks - sorry to break the news - I only look preggers...

My hubby had to fly back for work on Friday so I had breakfast alone with this view-

I didn't quite know what to do with an all-day to myself... I worked on work-emails...(Bad... I know!) moved hotels because there was going to be some type of Vegas-type of pool party... And it's just not my scene...

Once at the new hotel, I attempted to start this blog-post but a day filled with food, champagne cocktails by the pool and an early-dinner while watching Netflix: Master of None, was a whole more relaxing and blissful. (BTdubs- Season 2 Episode 6! By far one of my favoritest tv productions ever)

By late Friday night the hubby was back and we were ready to enjoy our last baecay day together.

I wore the green dress for one more gram-pic at our new hotel. I bought this dress from Target and it's from the Who What Wear Collection; and the great part of this line is that it carries plus sizes! I waited patiently for this dress to make its appearance on the sales rack and rather than paying $40 - I paid $17 and I bought it in XXL. Unfortunately, the dress is no longer available (unless you can find it in-stores at the sales racks)

Also, a tip... The Who What Wear Plus sizes stay true to the colors, patterns and
styling as the smaller sizes!!!

And then we hit the road for two pit-stops - for a Mural of Chester and The Last Bookstore.

This dress is my proving to be my favoritest of my impulse purchases because it's going to be a great transitional piece into the fall with denim, moto-jackets, boots, scarves and beanies!!! It's XXL from the plus-size line, AVA and VIV from, you've guessed it, Target.

And if you noticed, I loved pairing my boater hat with almost every #FOOTD this summer and am a little sad to store it away in its hat box for the fall and winter; I am now in search of a fall/winter hat/beanie for my favoritest seasons!

Here's a toast to the unofficial-official end of summer...

Toodles,

'Til next time,

Lilly Perez-Ngo

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I am not so much of the "new year, new me" attitude BUT a new year does represent a much more glacier pace of life for me. I kinda fell off the face of the Earth or at least my blog since September 2018... October, our birthday month was superbusy, November at work is an insane time and December is for the holidays sooooooo by the end of the year - I am just waiting with bated breath for new years! Aaaaaaaand January is also home to one of my favoritest days of the year! National Polka Dot Day! In honor of the the Polka Dot Queen herself, Minnie Mouse! If it has dots! I want it! I got it! ;-) And dude!!! I celebrated in what I can only describe as pants sent from heaven! They are from Zara and I bought them ON SALE, maybe six months ago and they come in XXL! I fell in love with them the minute I put them on SO ...

EDC 2016: Modesty, nudity and feminism

Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent Give it to me to go to Vegas and come back more of an empowered feminist than ever! Damn right! First of all... (clap, clap) Let's get something straight! (clap-clap)) My anxiety/insecurity prior to this Vegas Wedding slash EDC thing had NOTHING to do with my body!!! (CLAP) I struggle with finding nudity an empowering source! And not because I'm fat but because I've always been a believer in less is more - in where, the less skin I show, the more enticing and the more empowered I feel. Yeah! Ladies and gents! It's possible! And an argument can be made of the same saying; Less is more - The less clothing you wear the more enticing and empowered you can feel! And I say "I struggle" with 'empowering nudity' because we are bombarded with nudity everywhere we look - We are meant to be made to believe that we should all be comfortable with nudity - well I hate to break it to y'all but - nah! I've written ...

Fatshion 101: Learning to Live with Intent and Balance

Note: I started writing this blog in March while on our way Home to the Happiest Place on Earth ---days before resigning from my job of six years... I’ve always enjoyed my time sitting at a desk looking out a window… Which is probably why as I sit thousands of feet above the sky I am inspired to pull out my laptop (That I’ve packed to finish work emails – on my day off)  but  as I type those words- I’ve chosen to f*ck that sh*t – I am going to use my laptop to blog! I am a little  conflicted on where to start –  I’ve had these thoughts, these words, this blog on my mind for a long time… (Clears throat: it has been well over a year since my last blogpost) I haven’t written for fun in ages and I know myself well enough to know that I shouldn’t have taken such a long break from journaling/blogging (Friendly FYI – I maintain a handwritten journal in addition to my blog) But even before the summer 2019 I stopped all forms of journaling completely – I insta-s...
