Fatshion 101: On Sundays We Brunch and Wear Summer Dresses at the Wrong Time

Photograph by HusVinh
I have written about loving Sundays with my hubby because we get to brunch and I get to wear flowy dresses and this is oh so true - again - two weeks ago ;-)

I know it took me a while to post - I have been UBER busy! I need an actual vacation, soon!

Anywho--- I'd been craving a Sunday brunch in the city and I'd also been dying to surprise my hubby with a place featured @bayarea_buzz - the coolest ever - well... for a Star Wars fan...

The Yoda Fountain! Needless to say the hubby loved it!

Found my fountain, you have...
This Sunday outing we were also able to bring the trio #LitaPtachNano and the kids enjoyed a day walking around the Presidio.

And because every once in a while the stars align for me - the restaurant I wanted to go to was only a 5 minute walk away from the Yoda Fountain - so it was like THREE birds and one stone! Brunch at the Presidio Social Club! Time with our trio! And the Yoda Fountain

Brunch was awesome! We started with drinks - a mimosas for moi
and this concoction that my hubby ordered called painkiller.

We then ordered an apple cinnamon roll from heaven!

The hubby started with oysters... guacatala! Sorry folks - I just don't appreciate the notion of something slimy in my mouth and then down my throat - <--- Insert dirty jokes and thoughts here - okaaaaay - moving on...

My entree was soooooooooo gosh darn delicious! Chorizo roto and goodness gracious - I'm not sure my stomach was quite ready for bubbly champs and orange juice or spicy chorizo but it was well worth the bloating.

My OOTD was also not quite ready for the city weather or vice-versa. I was kinda hoping for some kinda sunshine but nope - The City was up to its old traditional tricks of FOG! I mean, I could've worn a beanie, a scarf and rider boots- IN JULY - and would not have looked silly at all - instead I looked a bit silly in this... hence my face ;-)

The face I made when I saw everyone in their jackets and beanies...And I'm over here in a summer dress!

I bought this dress a year ago when I ran an obsession with eShakti - and it was also one of my first affairs with online shopping - thus, I ordered it TWO SIZES TOO BIG BUT Silver lining...

...The dress is extremely flowy! And because of the flowy-ness, I can eat as much as I want and this dress will be a staple when I'm pregnant. (Calm down folks - I'm not pregnant - but we all know I'm a planner;-)

Because the dress is so flowy, it requires a jacket to give it shape and structure.

And honestly folks - it wasn't that cold - and when we got back home to San Jose - the weather was 87* so the dress didn't go to complete waste.

Besides being flowy - my other favorite part of the dress is the flowers! I mean, how gorgeous is this floral print!

I can't wait for our next brunch! And I can't wait for my next dresstination! And lesson learned, for the next dresstination I will not trust the weather channel's "feels like 72*" crap ;-)

That is all,

'Til next time.

Toodles,

Lilly Perez-Ngo

FML... I Totally Forgot it was Monnday Today...

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was jam packed with major accomplishments and lots of love! So much so, that I forgot today was Monday and that I needed to write my blog... And for consistency sake, I am writing to let y'all know to come back June 1st for a Wedding Update...   And that I am thinking about adding some kinda fat girl's guide to feeling and looking good, at least once a month... Every 1st,2nd or 3rd post... I want to try out this challenge I found on Instagram from the Aussie Perth Curvettes! Check 'em out I love theirr Instagram and their blogs! I'm not becoming a fashion/style blog by any stretch of the imagination... BUT I do enjoy looking good and feeling good about myself. And I haven't lately and that is a major part of my anxiety these days. I have been beating myself up and I want to make sure that at least once a month I highlight my many positive attributes! I am also in the middle of planning another trip...

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I am not so much of the "new year, new me" attitude BUT a new year does represent a much more glacier pace of life for me. I kinda fell off the face of the Earth or at least my blog since September 2018... October, our birthday month was superbusy, November at work is an insane time and December is for the holidays sooooooo by the end of the year - I am just waiting with bated breath for new years! Aaaaaaaand January is also home to one of my favoritest days of the year! National Polka Dot Day! In honor of the the Polka Dot Queen herself, Minnie Mouse! If it has dots! I want it! I got it! ;-) And dude!!! I celebrated in what I can only describe as pants sent from heaven! They are from Zara and I bought them ON SALE, maybe six months ago and they come in XXL! I fell in love with them the minute I put them on SO ...

Fatshion 101: FAT Is NOT An Insult

This past week I learned that my marriage was attacked and minimized, my body was subjected to meanness but rather than sulk at home and blame all the injustices on someone else - my husband and I followed through with our plans for a Friday game night full of laughs (imagine my husband acting out this song  - because in this home we try our best to laugh off drama) and continued with our V-Day plans for a Saturday afternoon in Carmel with our kids.  So here is my outfit of choice for a day trip to Carmel! And the theme of this Fatshion 101 post: patience ! Sales require patience! If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I LOVE casual wear, and casual does not mean frumpy! So be prepared to see this denim jacket, purchased at a Levi's outlet, on most of my Fatshion posts;-) It takes on many, many forms.  In this instance, I went with long sleeves and popped my collar for a little flare. This blouse from Madewell, I have been saving for this partic...
