Holy chetos! Yeah soooo uh, I dunno if y'all heard... We're married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am ready to relive our wedding day with y'all! And we will! But first the thoughts that have been running on mind like crazy...
Our wedding day was Awe-mazing! Like toot-toot honey, toot-toot honey, toot-toot honey!!!( I liked it so much I said three times:)
It was 18 months of planning and you best bet your bottom dollar that I am STILL riding on cloud nine!!! And I wanted to thank the ladies who gave me some of the best advice! My co-worker, who messaged me and let me know to enjoy and really soak in every moment and to one of the sweetest souls, one of the groomsmen's wife, who swore that I would have a moment of zen as I walked down the aisle... And guess what? I totally did but even more so as soon as I hit the dance floor, lol, where I always find zen " Some dance to remember, some dance to forget"!
After planning for over a year and a half- I was ready "to just get damn wedding over with" direct quote from the former bride herself. I honestly was just over the whole damn thing and then on the day of the rehearsal, starting in the morning, then afternoon and into the night- I felt at peace.
There was nothing more that could be done, to make or break the wedding. (Technically-ish.. we still hadn't written our vows... lol... Procrastinators 'til death us apart- but more on that later) All that was left to do was marry the love of my life!

Envisioning something in your mind and have it all come together... Is an insane feeling! There really isn't any other way that I can describe it!
From the colors (A special thanks to the folks who wore shades of my favorite color!) the favors (thanks to my aunt Elga) the cake (thank you my aunt Johanna), my dress (gracias a mis querido parents), and of course the weather (In true Raj form booyah to those that said Carmel Valley would be too cold - in true Nelson voice - ha-ha) And the food (Thank you dad #2) - which btw we had a bite or two of... but the two bites that we had, were simply amazing!!!!!!

Holman Ranch, Carmel Valley- Photograph by Anna Perevertaylo |
It all started with a stunning and beautiful venue, Holman Ranch, and everything from there was just icing on the cake and the cherry on top is simply the fact that I am married to the love of my life.
A man that as soon as I realized that I had left something behind at home - simply said, "Let's go pick it up because this is going to make a funny story someday"
The night before our wedding, we had dinner and called it an early night and hung out in the hot tub, where we were determined to start brainstorming our vows but every time we did, we both would start balling our eyes out...
We then (turn your eyes from the computer if you don't wanna read TMI) to conserve water , we then showered together, because we're huge environmentalist...lol... We then jumped into our p-jays and then bam!!! It hit me!!! I forgot the hanger for my dress!!!
We drove the 1.5hr home and 1.5hr back... Team work! He drove there and I drove back (Somewhere in between wrote his vows)! We made it back to our bridal suite at around 3am and needed to be up by 8am! We went to sleep... And woke up in each other's arms to a beautiful view, each other... Barf... I know...
On the day of the wedding, T.O.M. (Time of Month) decided to pay a visit after being about two weeks late and I cramp really bad, like I'd rather be knocked over with a bat, kind of cramps.
My aunt lend me some meds and as I was getting my hair done (thank you Melanie and S.I.L.) I was in an excruciating amount of pain and all the meanwhile writing my vows... So needless to say I was an emotional mess but was glad to get it outta the way that early in the morning...
So those were the few hours before but in the end... #OurStoryBookWedding and that's what it truly is! It truly is something out of the many pages I've read my whole life! I felt loved and beautiful!
Walking down the aisle, with both my mom and dad, to know that our friends and family were sharing this moment with us, to feeling like a Disney character (because everyone wanted to take pictures with us and if you love Disney, you also saw our Disney touches;-), to dancing our first dance as husband and wife, to me and my dad's Father-Daughter Surprise Dance and finally hitting the dance floor with all of our guests!
So if you follow me on Instagram, be ready for your feed to be bombarded with more wedding pictures because our photographs have arrived! And I am just in awe! I want to frame all of them!
Thus far, the venue was the icing, the cherry on top is my husband, and the sugar sprinkled on top is all the affirmations we've gotten... Everyone had fun and said the wedding was absolutely stunning, someone told me I looked classic! Another individual called me a timeless bride! Like holy sh*T! And then the one that jut took the cake...
First, you have to understand this... I. Love. Pinterest. I. Am. A. Pinterester. So when this sweet-pea of a young lady, without any hesitation and in the most genuine way tells me that our wedding looked like something out of a Pinterest board, I nearly fainted from how HAPPY I felt! So with that said, here's a Pinterest find, that I customized to read "And the adventure begins..." And my, oh my, was our a honeymoon an adventure had...
P.S. When planning a wedding, hire a month of coordinator, especially one that knows and loves your venue! One of the best decisions we ever made... and for that Thank You Babo! For agreeing with me and making sure we saved up that extra money (over budget, though but well worth it)

And the adventure bgins... Freedom Bakery - Photograph by Anna Perevertaylo |
And now for the story Y'all have been waiting for... Our Honeymoon story!!!
Eat, Drink and Be Married: Issue 2: And The Adventure Begins...
We were set to leave on Monday morning but I got a little too TIPSY at our morning after brunch and so Monday morning was left to sobering up and saying our goodbyes to out of town folks that came for our wedding.
We began our drive to Long Beach at approximately 4pm and made it to the LBC by 11pm - And then my hubby had the genius idea to go eat. And he was just craving Thai food, so he found a place that was open late... yes, open late-Thai food! So he of course orders the spiciest soup and the spiciest curry.
Needless to say his butt-hole was not very happy for the morning deposit... But we somehow make it to our heli-port with two mins to watch the "Just-In Case" this helicopter decides to take a nose dive video and then jump straight onto the helicopter...
Did I mention this was my first time ever in a helicopter! It was a short 15 min ride to Catalina Island and that was tons of fun! And that was the peak of our honeymoon! We have a small dinner and begin to feel cold coming on so we take NyQuil and call it an early evening.
Wednesday morning we go check out a pancake house for breakfast and turns out to be pretty tasty. And then we figure what to do for the rest of the week... We book some excursions, take a tour of the island and find out that the ones we really wanted to do are out of season... which is a bummer but we figure it gives us an excuse to come back another time... Little did we know what the rest of the week had in store for us...
Before we decide the rest of the day we make our first stop to the drugstore because he thinks he may have an anal fissure again (He had one back in January) So we buy the jelly that usually soothes the discomfort...
That same night we decide to go to the Casino, which turns out is an actual "Traditional Casino" Meaning, the original idea of a casino was a place of gathering and not gambling at all. So imagine my poor hubby's face when we find out that the Casino is now the town's movie theater! We enjoy a long walk to the theater and watched "The Second Best Marigold Hotel" and of course he falls asleep...

Meet "Clown Fish the Doughnut" LMAO- wink-wink |
So we head over to our first excursion "Dolphin Quest" and we saw ZERO dolphins! But it was definitely one effin' bumpy and sometimes scary ride... oh and we didn't even get to sit next to each other... And the poor guy, in his total discomfort braved the whole hour and a half so that we could have fun.
We have dinner, go bowling, and to an arcade and call it an early night and then eat at a restaurant that our friends recommended and eat something called Monkey Balls and it wasn't that bad...
The very next morning, he wakes me up and says he's taking a taxi to the clinic because he had spent the whole evening soaking in sitz bath and it was not doing anything. He comes back from the clinic with some more soothing jelly and anti-biotics. Our plans for the day, were to go to the beach, rent some lounge chairs, bathe in the sun and have some pina coladas...
He tells me to go ahead of him because he wants to do a sitz bath and I wanted to make sure we got the lounge chairs... I go through a bit of an ordeal to get us chairs and it all works out for the best...
At this point he's made the whole walk in major discomfort and doesn't even want to sit - I keep telling him to lay on his stomach and he finally does! And he finally feels some relief! We're sunbathing but I can tell he's still uncomfortable, he gets up a couple of times to put some more jelly but it does nothing.
As we're packing to get back to our hotel so we can get ready for dinner, I can tell he's dreading the walk... So I order us a taxi... An ordering a taxi in Catalina is a bit ridiculous because everything is within walking distance but his butt-hole was killing him!
We get back to our room and he does another sitz bath - and I finally go keep him company and for the first time all week take a look at his butt-hole and it doesn't look anything like it did in January and I have a minor panic attack that internalize because I do not want to stress him out... We cancel dinner plans because he simply cannot bear the pain!
Saturday morning we have to change hotels and he cannot walk! And the pain is becoming more unbearable! He could not walk without looking like he wanted to kill himself! So again we order a taxi to our hotel and it's still too early to check in - so we grab lunch at this place that the both had been dying to try - so we do and it's effin delicious but I can tell he's putting on a brave face for me. i walk over to the hotel to see if we can check and eureka finally some luck!
We take a pretty long nap and before you know it, it's time for our couple's massage (It's tradition, at every vacation, we book a massage) And we're both big about our lil traditions so when he says, go sun bathe and I'll see how I feel an hour... I know it's bad...
I go to the spa, and try my best to relax but I start looking up information on my phone as to why his fissure might be swollen and the more I dig deep into the Google search hole, I find out that it can be an abscess,(BTW- I suggest y'all DO NOT click on the images part of this search... but now most of you will so I'll wait here 'til you're done looking) that they grow in size if infected- As soon as I'm done reading this - I'm called into my massage and the entire time I am thinking about this growing abscess...
I leave the spa and speed walk to our hotel and Vinh is still laying flat on his stomach from the pain... While doing my research I read how to measure, without a ruler, the abscess, so I measure it and I freak the eff out internally, again! I get on the phone to cancel our reservations at Disneyland and he's looking at me, like no... I immediately call the ER and a taxi!

Our motto: We'll laugh about this someday... |
We fill out some paper work and they put us in a room... Take his vitals and then the nurse asks to see it and when she looks at it she reacts with a deep ooooooooooohhhhhh! Which freaks Vinh out... And she says, oh my goodness, it's huge!
So then she immediately calls a doctor and when the doctor sees it, he basically says in medical terms that he's not going t o touch it with a ten foot pole. Soon after, he asks where we're from, we tell him the Bay Area and he says "Excellent, you can go to Standford Hospital and see a specialist for surgery!"
They inject him with something basically equivalent to morphine, something to fight the nausea, and an antibiotic. I ask what would the surgery do and they said it would basically be bursting it! Gross! I then ask what happens if it bursts before that, and they say that it's less than likely, I ask but what if... The give me the instructions...and we finally get to go home...
The injections finally relieve his pain and discomfort, so much so, that he finally sleep on his back. We go to sleep, finally knowing what's wrong and that we get to go home the next day and seeing a doctor as soon as we get home.
Well guess what happens next... 3:34am he wakes me up, as I'm having a bit of anxiety filled dream, I tell him I'm awake and he says, in a hushed panicked voice, "It burst!!!"
It burst y'all! And the bed looked like a bloody/mucus filled murder scene! And guess what!
Through sickness and in health vows, should also include through mucus and in blood! Yes, gosh darn it! I cleaned his butt-hole and made sure to sanitize the crap out of it - pun-intended!
We finally go to bed and sleep and leave the next day! Ride the helicopter back to the main land and head to the first CVS store! And buy an actual doughnut! And then I made the drive home!

Finally, a real doughnut! In the old-folks section... |

I wanted him to lay on his side, so he rode in the back and me his driver from LBC to SJ |
He's doing fine now and we'll give an update soon- we're seeing a specialist on Wednesday! And can y'all believe, there's an actual butt specialist out there! +Victor Ngo will forever remain my greatest adventure!
So that's our story... so hopefully now y'all understand when you ask about our honeymoon - All I want to say is that my husband was a major pain in the ass! (The Dr in the ER came up with that one)
That is all,
'Til next time,
Toodles,
Lilly Perez-Ngo
