Fatshion 101: Hello 2017!!! Hello adulthood???

Y'all ready for some shocking news!
Happy New Year! I'm all of 31 days late or 3 days late if you celebrate Lunar New Year... Either way I'm late to the celebration party.

We are 11 days into the orange-sexualt-assaulting piece of shit presidency and guess what that "hardworking business mogul" y'all idiots voted for has Already requested time-off and is off vacationing in Palm Beach.

Meanwhile the country is in turmoil but hey who gives a fuck right...
Anywayssss... This post is sort of a new year's resolution about adulting-up inspired by this country's lack of morals.

Five days ago, January 25th, the husband and I celebrated 10 YEARS! of knowing each other (We met on Vinh's first day at SJSU!) This upcoming March we will have been married 2 years, and in May we will be celebrating 10 YEARS TOGETHER!

We began dating at 21 years-old and now at 31 years-old I was like whoa, and then he was like whoa and then we were both like whoa! (Yeah, I just quoted Finding Nemo- Classic)

A picture of me reflecting and packing my last bag
We've been there through our growing pains - from purchasing my car, through college, through getting fired to finally getting a place of our own and purchasing furniture - and y'all know how much fun that can be when the husband thinks neon lights are cool and recliners are stylish.

It really is a moment of clarity when we both look at each other and realize maybe it's time to do a little more adulting and you wouldn't believe where we decided... At Disneyland!

While on our last Disneyland trip we were debating whether we should renew our annual passports AND dun-dun-dun WE ARE NOT RENEWING.

As much as the decision saddens me (not gonna lie- I cried and just the thought of it - I'm still crying) I know fuck me and my first world problems but that is a part of the reason why we've opted not to renew.

After a lot of reflection about how this orange sexual-assaulting-piece of shit running our country to the ground- I figure it's time I start dedicating more of my free time to social justice.

Until next time my Happiest Place on Earth!
I guess it's also just time to start looking for a bigger place, it's time we start taking our savings seriously and it's time to adult some more.

I've always maintained Disneyland is my happiest place on Earth - it is more affordable than therapy but for the time being - Disneyland will be reserved for "In case of an emergency" only.

We will be going back to Disneyland for the big celebrations ;-) like Star Wars Land and perhaps the refurbished and reinvented Hollywood Tower of Terror soon to be the Guardians of the Galaxy but the weekend getaways are done for 2017.

So with that said we have packed my bag-back for the last time for a long time. #Tear 

Oh yeah... how could I forget - Outfit deets Cold weather at Disneyland you gotta layer up and wear your most comfortable shoes:

JCrew Striped Sweater: $15! So I got this sweater in tan too! -
AVA and VIV Jeans: $30 - size 14 from Target's Fat Girl Section
FINALLY! A set of purple and white polka-dot Minnie-ears(kids size but hey!I love purple: about $20 (with AP discount) from the Mad Hatter Shop on Main Street - and of course, now all my ears go into retirement... perfect timing...

That is all

'Til next time

FML... I Totally Forgot it was Monnday Today...

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was jam packed with major accomplishments and lots of love! So much so, that I forgot today was Monday and that I needed to write my blog... And for consistency sake, I am writing to let y'all know to come back June 1st for a Wedding Update...   And that I am thinking about adding some kinda fat girl's guide to feeling and looking good, at least once a month... Every 1st,2nd or 3rd post... I want to try out this challenge I found on Instagram from the Aussie Perth Curvettes! Check 'em out I love theirr Instagram and their blogs! I'm not becoming a fashion/style blog by any stretch of the imagination... BUT I do enjoy looking good and feeling good about myself. And I haven't lately and that is a major part of my anxiety these days. I have been beating myself up and I want to make sure that at least once a month I highlight my many positive attributes! I am also in the middle of planning another trip...

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I am not so much of the "new year, new me" attitude BUT a new year does represent a much more glacier pace of life for me. I kinda fell off the face of the Earth or at least my blog since September 2018... October, our birthday month was superbusy, November at work is an insane time and December is for the holidays sooooooo by the end of the year - I am just waiting with bated breath for new years! Aaaaaaaand January is also home to one of my favoritest days of the year! National Polka Dot Day! In honor of the the Polka Dot Queen herself, Minnie Mouse! If it has dots! I want it! I got it! ;-) And dude!!! I celebrated in what I can only describe as pants sent from heaven! They are from Zara and I bought them ON SALE, maybe six months ago and they come in XXL! I fell in love with them the minute I put them on SO ...

Fatshion 101: FAT Is NOT An Insult

This past week I learned that my marriage was attacked and minimized, my body was subjected to meanness but rather than sulk at home and blame all the injustices on someone else - my husband and I followed through with our plans for a Friday game night full of laughs (imagine my husband acting out this song  - because in this home we try our best to laugh off drama) and continued with our V-Day plans for a Saturday afternoon in Carmel with our kids.  So here is my outfit of choice for a day trip to Carmel! And the theme of this Fatshion 101 post: patience ! Sales require patience! If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I LOVE casual wear, and casual does not mean frumpy! So be prepared to see this denim jacket, purchased at a Levi's outlet, on most of my Fatshion posts;-) It takes on many, many forms.  In this instance, I went with long sleeves and popped my collar for a little flare. This blouse from Madewell, I have been saving for this partic...
