Fatshion 101: A Fat Disney Dresstination

We just got back from The Happiest Place on Earth! My home! Disneyland!

I am writing this post from the comfort of the passenger side, with the beat scenery a girl can ask for... The ocean and my husband driving us home after a #MiniBAEcation to one of our favorite places.

I live for the fifth Sunday of the month since I don't have to work and I get to enjoy a full weekend with my husband.

And more so I get to enjoy a full Sunday with errands, sightseeing, champs and playing dress up!

I said it in my previous post - I was really looking forward to our next mini BAEcation because of the clothes!

(Well that- and the new Frozen show that premiered this weekend... If you LOVE Frozen, you'll appreciate this show, if you do not - save your time and money and just watch the DVD version)

Besides the show, I was really looking forward to wearing a skirt I purchased, online, from Forever 21+.

I just didn't have a T-shirt! Agh! The horror! I know!

But then I thought! Wait! This past weekend was also our 9th Relationship-versary! So I hopped onto my Etsy account and started shopping for cute matching shirts!

We've been together for 9years! That's practically a third of our lives! Holy Chet! Time to celebrate!!! Right!?!?!

So when I found the shirt pictured here! I went bonkers! I am a lover of all things that sparkle... When it comes to my wines!

Have it be champagne and/or rosé, I always say, yes huey (I'm not Mexican but I love that saying!) Bubbly is a cause for celebration or celebration calls for bubbly - either way  - it's win-win!

And I found one for his love of beer too!

So imagine my excitement when I saw these T-shirts combining our inner-child's first love with some of our adulting favorites!!!

The ETSY shop-seller is open to customization so I asked for the design on baseball t-shirts because the baseball tees are classic and I will be able to wear for years:-)

The shirt and skirt combo is pretty much a staple in my wardrobe. The skirts and crop tops (if you can't find a crop top tie it in the front or back) hug and accentuate my waist - a physical attribute that I've grown to really love about myself.

And these baseball tees are also my favorite because they look exceptional on everyone.

I bought the shirt adult size Medium. This size gives the shirt an opportunity to accentuate my waist but little did I know how much it would accentuate my breastesses.

My husband got a kick out of seeing people, both men and women just stare at my chest (he loves being able to say "Yeah, that's my wife") but by Sunset, I'd had enough and just put on a sweater.
Shirt from Etsy shop BrandByYou and skirt from Forever21+

And in other exciting news, this shirt and skirt combo also got me featured on PlusModelMag instagram!

PlusModelMag is a part of the reason I literally jumped the fuck off the self-loathing wagon and decided to accept and love my body.

Regardless of my size - I've always had style - it has just taken some folks, (with their backhanded compliments- I hear and see you) to realize it.

But I digress, now as I was saying, this trip also meant I could enjoy a Sunday brunch with mimosas at UVA bar and a hearty lunch from Earl of Sandwhich, both of which are located in Downtown Disney.

Contrary to popular belief, Disney is also fun for adulting activities! On a lovely Sunday mornoon, I opt for dresses! Especially a flowy dress! With pleats! Awgh! I could just die!

I wore a dress from Target (purchased last summer) and also bought the dress in blush - when I love a piece of clothing, if available, - I will purchase in multiple colors

This mint color is one of my favorites because it reminds me of Tiffany Blue. I also had my trusty denim jacket and just packed in my bag in case it got chilly.

Shirt is from Zara size large and necklace from Nordstrom Rack
I paired the dress with a shirt from Zara (u der $20 size Large) the shirts pairs well with jeans and skirta too!

I wear a shirt for functionality and styling purposes because as much as I'd like to be 100% comfortable - I have just never felt too comfortable with exposing my skin and in this case, bare arms - I just cannot do.

Self-conscious, perhaps, but FOR ME modesty is the best policy. I admire women of all shapes and sizes willing to bare it all but it's way out of my comfort zone.

At UVA bar for some champs to celebrate 9 years together!
I love that flowy detail when you catch a glimpse of yourself pass a window pane and those pleats! Oh those pleats!

I love combining affordable pieces with my higher end outlet pieces - lol!

The necklace is from Nordatrom Rack and its one of my favorites this season because it adds sparkle but remains understated and simple. (I don't like nor do flashy)

It's all in the details... The details that make you the most happy, the details to styling, the details to life... Details, details, details.

And it's true; those moments are the ones I live for now.

So a Fatshion 101 tip:

When you catch a glimpse of yourself look for something you love rather than nitpick that bulge, or that zit, or that wrinkle, whatever it may be... Look for points to admire, love and appreciate!

PS. I recently had a conversation with a young woman that I deeply admire and to hear her degrade herself or talk-down to herself regarding her physical attributes broke my heart.

This young woman has the physical attributes deemed beautiful by society- thus it broke my heart but I also understand that she's on her journey to love herself-  I dedicate this blog to her - You are smart, beautiful and honest. And I love you more for your rawness and openness and willingness to ask for help.

That is all.

'Til next time,

Toodles,

Mrs. Lilly Perez-Ngo

FML... I Totally Forgot it was Monnday Today...

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was jam packed with major accomplishments and lots of love! So much so, that I forgot today was Monday and that I needed to write my blog... And for consistency sake, I am writing to let y'all know to come back June 1st for a Wedding Update...   And that I am thinking about adding some kinda fat girl's guide to feeling and looking good, at least once a month... Every 1st,2nd or 3rd post... I want to try out this challenge I found on Instagram from the Aussie Perth Curvettes! Check 'em out I love theirr Instagram and their blogs! I'm not becoming a fashion/style blog by any stretch of the imagination... BUT I do enjoy looking good and feeling good about myself. And I haven't lately and that is a major part of my anxiety these days. I have been beating myself up and I want to make sure that at least once a month I highlight my many positive attributes! I am also in the middle of planning another trip...

Fatshion 101: Return of National Polka Dot Day

Happy New Year's Y'all! I am happy to be back! I am happy that it's the beginning of the year when the days feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I am not so much of the "new year, new me" attitude BUT a new year does represent a much more glacier pace of life for me. I kinda fell off the face of the Earth or at least my blog since September 2018... October, our birthday month was superbusy, November at work is an insane time and December is for the holidays sooooooo by the end of the year - I am just waiting with bated breath for new years! Aaaaaaaand January is also home to one of my favoritest days of the year! National Polka Dot Day! In honor of the the Polka Dot Queen herself, Minnie Mouse! If it has dots! I want it! I got it! ;-) And dude!!! I celebrated in what I can only describe as pants sent from heaven! They are from Zara and I bought them ON SALE, maybe six months ago and they come in XXL! I fell in love with them the minute I put them on SO ...

Fatshion 101: FAT Is NOT An Insult

This past week I learned that my marriage was attacked and minimized, my body was subjected to meanness but rather than sulk at home and blame all the injustices on someone else - my husband and I followed through with our plans for a Friday game night full of laughs (imagine my husband acting out this song  - because in this home we try our best to laugh off drama) and continued with our V-Day plans for a Saturday afternoon in Carmel with our kids.  So here is my outfit of choice for a day trip to Carmel! And the theme of this Fatshion 101 post: patience ! Sales require patience! If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I LOVE casual wear, and casual does not mean frumpy! So be prepared to see this denim jacket, purchased at a Levi's outlet, on most of my Fatshion posts;-) It takes on many, many forms.  In this instance, I went with long sleeves and popped my collar for a little flare. This blouse from Madewell, I have been saving for this partic...
